  • 2010.01.20. IEC Young Professionals - 2010 Workshop
    IEC will launch its Young Professionals initiative with a workshop to be held during the IEC General Meeting in Seattle in October 2010.The objective of the workshop is to encourage professionals at the start of their career to participate in IEC work. The workshop is aimed at engineers, technicians or managers employed by an IEC relevant association, government body, organisation, industry or business, aged early 20s to mid-30s and who have some experience in standardisation.     ETCI launches its "Good Practice Guide on the Management of Electrical Safety at Work". This Guide has beeen revised to take account of the provisions of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the General Application Regulations of 2007. The Guide is particularly aimed at managers who may not be technically qualified in the electrical sense but who are, under legal responsibiity for safety, health and welfare at work, responsible for electrical safety of their employees.
