This
Code of Practice applies to low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
(type-tested assemblies (TTA) and partially type-tested assemblies (PTTA)), the
rated voltage of which does nor exceed 1000v a.c. at frequencies not exceeding
1000 Hz or 1500v d.c. for use in industrial, commercial and similar installations.This
code does not apply to:
1. consumer units in domestic and similar installations (see Publication ET208 below);
2. to equipment intended for use in hazardous atmospheres, where special equipment must be used. (See "Guide to the Selection of Electrical Equipment for use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres", published by the Electro-Technical Council of Ireland) and
3.
to Electricity Supply Authority Metering Cabinets (providing there are no protective
devices installed therein.
