TC3 Power installations exceeding 1 kV a.c. (1,5 kV d.c.)

Scope/Introduction: || back to top

ETCI TC3 is the Committee responsible for preparing national rules for High Voltage power installations (exceeding 1 kV a.c. or 1,5 kV d.c.) located indoors or indoors, including earthing. The rules will specify the design requirements of the installations, and the selection and erection of electrical equipment in order to ensure the safety of persons and the proper operation of the installations. The rules will not be applicable to factory built and type tested equipment, but will be relevant to the installation of this equipment. The rules will not be applicable to overhead and underground lines between separate installations. Thus the work of the committee is analogous to the work of TC2 ‘Electrical Installations’ which develops and maintains the national rules for installations connected at low voltage. The two committees co-ordinate on interface issues.
