Statutory Instrument, S.I. No. 258 of 2003, Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Explosive Atmospheres) Regulations 2003 gives effect to the ATEX workplace Directive, or Directive 1999/92/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. Regulation 4, paragraph 5 of S.I. 258 (2003) which states that "the employer shall prepare the explosion protection document as soon as practicable after coming into force of these Regulations". ETCI assembled speakers from ETCI Technical Committees, Irish industry, HSA, Germany and UK to assist in the preparation of this task. Papers from this seminar are available from ETCI Offices.
